Introduction I have chosen two of the biggest broadband and telecommunication companies in Ireland for this website comparison. O2 and Vodafone are both leading distributors of mobile services for individuals and corporate clients providing them with solutions in communications. They are the two biggest competitors in the mobile networking industry in Ireland constituting for 88% of the total market. This market percentage is split between Vodafone and O2, 48% and 40% respectively. I have chosen these two websites for comparison for a number of reasons. I have been a frequent user of both sites, and am interested in the industry. The main reason however I selected these websites is due to the substantial differences in theme and†¦show more content†¦On the shop page the user will be given 4 options to browse shop by phone, browse by plan, purchase SIM only, or to go the O2 broadband section. Underneath these options again are more offers specifying O2’s current most popular deals. The most popular deals have clearly labelled prices on all of the phones. Browsing through the shop is easy, and informative. The main specifications and advantages of each product are clearly placed beside a picture of that product and the price is also clearly labelled. If you actually select the phone the user is redirected to another page which describes in depth specifications, main features and pricing plans. Some of the specifications are interactive and offer a visual 3D experience where they can rotate the phone with their mouse. This ensures that the user is confident with their purchase. In some cases, demos are available to watch how the product operates. Overall the shop provides some great interactive features and effectively utilises and takes advantage the capabilities of Adobe flash player. One of the more interesting features of the O2 website is its partner websites. From navigating through the webpage there are often sections with links to some of O2’s separate projects. Examples of these are 02thinkbig.ie where the user is redirected to a section created to encourage young innovators.
